Superstars Phongsiree ‘Poo Khai’ Bunluewong and Jeab Chompoonuch Wed at AU’s Iconic Chapel
Assumption University of Thailand (AU) was honored to be the venue for the wedding of Phongsiree “Poo Khai” Bunluewong, a celebrated Thai actor, former national equestrian, and distinguished AU alumnus, and Jeab Chompoonuch Piyatamchai. Held at the iconic Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort, the ceremony symbolized both tradition and the couple’s deep ties to AU.
Khun Phongsiree, affectionately known as “Poo Khai,” is a trailblazer in Thai equestrian sports. He made history as the first Thai equestrian to qualify for the Olympics, competing in the 2004 Games in Greece. In addition to his athletic career, he has become a familiar face in Thai television and film. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts (Advertising) from AU, Class 37, and has remained connected to the university, which he credits with shaping his journey.
The couple’s wedding took place on a particularly meaningful date: Poo Khai’s birthday. This day marked not only a personal celebration but the start of a new chapter for the couple, who have been together for over 11 years. The ceremony brought together family, close friends, and well-known figures from Thailand’s entertainment scene, including Noon Woranuch, Jeab Sopitnapa, B Matika, and many more, who gathered to witness their vows.

As a setting, the Chapel of St. Louis Marie de Montfort embodies the spirit of AU, with its inspiring architecture and tranquil ambiance, providing a beautiful venue for Phongsiree and Jeab Chompoonuch to unite in marriage. The couple plans to celebrate their shared love of travel in the coming years, hoping to explore new countries together as they begin this exciting new chapter.
